A multi-disciplinary department that treats every life-threatening accident and emergency cases, the Emergency Department at Meitra Hospital is 17-bedded department that is backed 24/7 by specialists and super specialists to ensure definitive care is initiated at the right time in less than two minutes. The triage is provided as per international standards with an aim to sort out patients based on the severity of the disease. To avoid cross infection of COVID and other contagious diseases, the patients are triaged in separate areas. The response and treatment initiation time beats international standards in management of patients with heart attack or stroke. Door to CT time in acute stroke is 5 minutes, and Door-To-Needle time is 20 minutes. Door-To-Balloon time in Heart Attack is 20 minutes. This is achieved by next door radiology department and a dedicated patient transfer corridor.
