The “Heart Team” at Meitra has successfully done Aortic Valve Replacement procedure without surgery. This was followed because the patient was considered too high a risk for open valve replacement due to advanced age and multiple co-morbid illnesses. The patient started walking a few hours after the procedures and was discharged early. The Heart and Vascular department at Meitra is the only facility in South India equipped with Robotic Hybrid Cath Lab, which is very much suitable for procedures like trans-catheter valve replacement.
